Wendy the Photographer

I am a portrait and lifestyle  photographer that specializes in natural settings and using light to play with the mood of a photograph.  I love creating images with very bold and saturated colors but also know when a good black and white is called for.   I shoot photo journalistic style because, above all else, the story is the most important part.  It’s not just about a snapshot to methodically record a moment, holiday or age.   It’s about creating images that appeal visually, and tells the story of your life.

As your photographer, I will seek to find that emotional connection between you and the camera.  I enjoy getting to know every one of my clients and forging a relationship that grows with the needs of you and your family.  Sessions should be fun and low stress.  I strive to provide you with an environment that is relaxed, flexible and goes with the natural flow of the shoot.

With Wendy Hudman Photography you get the real deal.   I am not just a self taught hobbyist trying to make it pro.  I have many years of formal educational experience at university level, and a working professional artist who has traveled the world soaking up the wonder that is this amazing life.  I just want to capture it all!

here’s some more about me….

Wendy the Person

I was born and raised in the very rural outskirts  of Abilene, Texas.  I realized I had a passion for photography early when I got a cool 1984 Eastman Kodak/Fisher price Toy camera that used 110 film for my 8th birthday.  I remember it was blue with black plastic handles and used  disposable flashes.  It was awesome!  I almost bankrupted my parents by filling rolls and rolls of pictures of my dolls, cats, and dogs.  I still feel giddy at the sound of a wind up camera!  In high school, I was greatly inspired by my photography teacher and Art teacher.  Both of these amazing people encouraged me to go to Texas Tech University where I studied art and photography for 3 years.  I’ve continued my passion and informal education ever since.

Besides Photography and art, I have a love for gardening and nature that has been handed down from generations of farmers.  I am also a mom of two awesome boys.  A teenager who is one of the coolest kids I know, and a brilliant, super fast two year old.  The man I share these beautiful children with is the love of my life.  We met in design communications 101 our freshman year at Tech, and his sweet, shy self was terrified of me!!  I once tried to seduce him in the photography department’s creepy, basement darkroom, and all he remembers is that the chemicals smelled weird.  True story!  He is the perfect mix of mad genius and a creative spirit who can still make my heart skip a beat after all these years.  We currently reside in the North Dallas area with a house filled with dogs,kids, eccentricity, creativity and love.  Throughout all the crazy up’s and down’s of life, I’ve never lost my passion for creating and appreciating the arts.

One last very important bit of business.  All photography or artistic images on this site are created by myself, unless specified otherwise.  Please do not steal these images.  They remain the property of Wendy Hudman Photography and Wenderflonia Studios and are very precious to me.  Inquires as to how to how to purchase prints are welcome.
